Arrived last night in the dark at the American Academy in Rome - Perfect round fountain greeted us. On the way to the Capitoline Museums, I kept wanting to draw each fountain I saw - the Turtle Fountain on the Piazza Mattei and, later, the huge, simple urn-shaped, perfectly level fountain on Via D. Staderari. Finally, Bernini in Piazza Navona - Fontana Dei Fiumi.
