Lake/Flato, San Antonio

Things do not go well at first. Look in the clouds and you can see wrinkles seem to be an unsurmountable problem. Every time I touch the huge canvas my work is undone. After calling my brother, Ted Flato for help we come up with the idea of tearing my large sheets of Japanese paper into smaller pieces and then gingerly stretching each piece without pressure. These pieces flatten as they dry. The only problem is "believing" all will be well in 2 hours.
